How is TEMASOFT Ranstop licensed?

Ranstop is licensed through license files. By default, Ranstop is installed with a built-in evaluation license file valid for 15 days. The evaluation period might be extended upon request. In this case, users will receive extended evaluation license files.

TEMASOFT Ranstop can protect Windows workstation and server machines, and for commercial use, each must be licensed as follows:

• To protect workstations (Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, except Home editions), customers need to purchase and use TEMASOFT Ranstop Workstation licenses
• To protect servers (Windows Server 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016), customers need to purchase and use TEMASOFT Ranstop Server licenses

Server licenses do not work on workstations and vice-versa.

Users who purchase Ranstop receive commercial license files. They must be activated within 30 days after the acquisition date. Activation can be done automatically or manually from the Settings->Licensing section of the main interface. Activation binds a license to the machine to which it is applied. This process is not reversible. There is no option to deactivate a license. To use Ranstop on more systems, more activations/licenses are needed.
